Dear CareerBabe:

Where do I put salary information on a resume I'm going to submit? The ad demands my salary information!

Dear Depends:

Good Question. Usually when companies do this, they know you’re not going to put a salary in, so they’re mostly fishing for information regarding what they should be paying someone who fills that job. No, you don't want to put salary information in a resume you submit and most companies absolutely know that! Try saying: "Salary Open", "Salary is Negotiable," or better yet, "Salary is Less Important than My Opportunity to Contribute to Your Organization and Long-Term Growth." Check out the most recent Computer Currents articles on Interview Stumpers  and washingtonpost.com. You’ll find good information there on salary negotiation too.

Best of Luck!
